Dennis Parsick and I took Luis and his mother to Penonomee shopping for school supplies and his uniforms for school.
Bob Stiff of 98.7 FM paid for his uniforms and Matt & I purchased his book bag and school supplies. On the way to Penonomee Dennis and I registered Luis and 2 of his siblings for school. Luis is the oldest of 9 children and wants to continue on with his high school education. Without Educacion Primero the family did not have the finances to keep him in school.
We are associated with a group of expats that are helping local schools. We build classrooms, lunch rooms, and bathrooms. We have installed electrical into some of the shools and even painted the classrooms. We also provide schools supplies and sporting equipment for the children. Most teachers average $200/month salary so one expat closed their clothing store in the city and each teacher received 5 new outfits and 3 pair of shoes. |
