Medical Treatment of Julie |  Our friend, Julie Dugan from Playa Blanca, fell in PC while walking on a sidewalk (those damn holes) and had to be taken to the hospital.
She was taken to Punta Pacifica emegency room. She was in and out in about 2 hours. Her x-rays and 2 casts (wrist and ankle) came to around $200!
She is up and around and ready to head back to Pennsylvania next week. |
Mack Is On His Way Home! |  Mack, our grandson, was released from the hospital today, March 3, in Mobile AL. He was born on September 27 and weighed 1 lb 3 oz at birth.
Randy flew in to Gulfport, MS from their new home in Atlanta to help Stephanie drive the little guy back to Atlanta!!
Mack is now around 4 lb 8 oz and growing fast. He is been through a lot since he came into the world!
Today, March 5, Mack had his first doctor's appointment in Atlanta and he weighed 4 lbs 14.5 oz.!!

Huntley IL Visitors Return to PANAMA |  Colleen and Dave Veath returned for a second time from Huntley, IL to visit. This time they brought another couple from Huntley, June and Brownie.
They spent a couple of days in the city touring the Emberra village, canal, and carnival. When visiting us we spent time at XS Memories Sports Bar, Woodys Beach Paradise, and Los Camisones. We also went over to Playa Blanca to see the world's 2nd largest swimming pool.
We spent a day in El Valle driving around after having breakfast at Hotel Anton Valley, appetizers at O'Pedro's Pub, and drinks at Las Capitanes. We also visited the El Valle coffee distributor and the artesian market.
On the way back to the airport we stopped over at XS Memories for a great breakfast before heading off to the airport.

Night Visitor Christmas Eve |  Thursday night, December 24, our dog treed a night monkey in the tree by the family room.
This is the first time we have seen any monkeys near our property. We have had pumas (panthers), deer, iguanas, and parrots.
We have been in the house for over 4 years and we were totally surprised by the monkey. I wonder if it has anything to do with we have a large bunch of bananas ready to harvest again. |
Educacion Primero 2009 Santa Clara Xmas Party |  Sunday, December 20 was the Xmas Party for the Santa Clara school presented by www.educacionprimero.org
This year we had a very generous benefactor who purchased bicycles for all of the children at the school (around 30). The photo shows the bicycles.
We also had a magician perform, plus Santa Claus showed up to hand out presents to the children.
